Our Mission
At MiddleMUN XII, our mission is to empower middle school students with a foundational understanding of Model United Nations and a genuine enthusiasm for international relations and diplomacy. Through a collaborative and supportive approach, we provide an engaging platform where participants can develop critical skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking. We aim to foster global awareness and inspire the next generation of leaders by encouraging them to explore and discuss pressing global issues in a supportive environment. Our commitment to education and leadership is at the heart of everything we do, as we strive to cultivate informed and passionate advocates for positive change in the world.
FAQs
-
Model United Nations (MUN) is a learning simulation where students, or delegates, represent countries or people and discuss global issues. Participants build important skills like public speaking, negotiation, and research. MUN improves understanding of international relations, boosts analytical skills, and encourages advocacy. This experience fosters teamwork and helps young leaders voice their views on important topics like climate change, human rights, and security, making them informed global citizens.

It's very easy to join CBA Model UN!
If you school currently has a Model UN club affiliated with Middle MUN, go to the advisor and ask to join!
If your school is not actively participating in Middle MUN, please reach out to the Secretary-General so we can see about establishing a chapter at your school.
-
As with any club or activity, there is a fair amount of work involved. Delegates are required to write a 1-2 page Position Paper due a week before the conference.
Delegates are encouraged to research their topic fully and bring notes with them. Delegates are also highly encouraged to attend one or several of our Parliamentary Procedure meetings on Zoom.
Doing these things will ensure that a delegate has the very best time at our conference. Remember, if you're ever stuck, confused, lost, or nervous -- please reach out. We are here and excited to help you!
-
Delegates who fully prepare and participate in the conference receive a number of benefits: public speaking skills, research skills, writing skills, and much more.
Delegates also tend to receive an academic benefit, especially in History or English related classes.
Participating in Middle MUN helps a delegate to create a firm foundation for various skills necessary in academic and professional contexts, which sets our delegates apart from the rest of their peers.
